Montgomery is underrated, change my mind

So, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Household incomes average around $55,687 in Montgomery. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Anyone in a similar situation? It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The weather is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Tampa about 13 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Close to major attractions
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- The cost of living scene is decent

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
