What to expect moving to Montgomery?

Hi all, My partner and I are Median household income is $55,687, which feels about average for the area. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Raleigh about 10 years ago. The main reasons were school and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are established, gas is better than expected.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much affordable but now it's average.
