Why I chose Montgomery over bigger cities

So, I've been here for 16 years and Poverty rate is 17.7%, which is higher than I expected. Crime rate is something to consider — Montgomery sits at 522.5 per 100K. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Worth the trade-offs? The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, the quality of life is solid. No regrets on my end..
