Not sure if this has been asked before, but The median home value here is around $367,100, which seems about average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value job market, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely better than expected and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (West) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Cedar Grove. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in tech. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
