Random thought, Been living here since 2015. Rent is about $1,943/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $452,400 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. I'm a sales manager who relocated here from New York about 7 years ago. The main reasons were work and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is underrated.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
