Freelancing from Monticello -experience?
So, I'm a teacher here and Rent is about $1,003/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 7.5%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 2,668 people. With a population of 2,668, Monticello is a small town. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
