Alright, I'm originally from Houston and You can expect to pay around $1,462 for rent here. Homes are going for about $298,400 on average. Rent is about $1,462/month for a decent place. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Am I overthinking this? Any help is appreciated. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
