Moving from San Francisco to Monticello next month
OK so I grew up here but left for a while. Crime rate is something to consider -Monticello sits at 350.4 per 100K. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Should I be concerned? Any help is appreciated.

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great Thai places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much reasonable but now it's average.

I've lived in East for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- The school system scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Hope this helps!.
