Pros and cons of Moodus after 8 years
Hey everyone, Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. Homes are going for about $259,000 on average. Rent is about $1,151/month for a decent place. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.
Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Nice parks and trails
- Lots of new development
Cons:
- Limited public transit
- High property taxes
- Boring for young people
- Poor road conditions
- Limited cultural events
