Madeline Young housing

First time home buyer in Moody

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Just moved here 13 months ago and You can expect to pay around $1,463 for rent here. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Does this match your experience? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 15 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is solid in most areas.
