Things Moore needs to improve

Alright, Been living here since 2009. Rent is about $1,276/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Moore sits at 174.6 per 100K. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. Is this normal for Moore? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 2 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Used to live on the East side, now on the Eastside side. Completely different vibe. it exceeded my expectations.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a writer, 49, moved here 13 years ago from Miami. I've lived in The Heights and Downtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Strong job market in several industries
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited shopping options
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The walkability situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- The Heights: Great for retirees. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Downtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $40K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Happy to answer more specific questions..
