I'm retired and Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. With a population of 9,608, Mooresville is a small town. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to San Francisco it's surprisingly good.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it was the best decision I ever made. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Oak Park. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in finance. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Korean.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

Used to live on the Downtown side, now on the Highland side. Completely different vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me.

I work in construction here and it was the best decision I ever made. The job market for my field is average. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
