Mooresville in the winter -how bad?

First post here. I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Crime rate is something to consider -Mooresville sits at 166.8 per 100K. Poverty rate is 6.8%, which is pretty low. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What would you do?

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great Mexican places. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The food scene is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Westside. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in real estate. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Boston about 14 years ago. The main reasons were school and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. No regrets on my end..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Seattle it's tough.
