My family moved here when I was a kid. Median household income is $74,792, which feels about average for the area. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Does this match your experience?

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Baltimore it's underrated.

I've lived in Riverside for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The dating scene scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if public transit matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Used to live on the East side, now on the Fairview side. Completely different vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value weather, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely challenging and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (West) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
