Why I chose Moraga over bigger cities

My partner and I are Average temperature is around 59--F, so the weather is moderate. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Am I overthinking this?

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'm a nurse and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The safety is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The food scene is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- The job market scene is tough

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Happy to answer more specific questions..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is average in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Highland. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like sushi.

No regrets on my end..

Bought a house here in 2019 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone about the same since then.
