Considering Moreno Valley vs Denver — help me decide

Alright, I grew up here but left for a while. Homes are going for about $461,400 on average. Crime rate is something to consider — Moreno Valley sits at 401.5 per 100K. Rent is about $2,036/month for a decent place. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The public transit is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Old Town. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2024 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone up significantly since then.
