What Moreno Valley does better than anywhere else

First post here. I'm single, late 30s, and The median home value here is around $461,400, which is pretty steep. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Thoughts? The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Hope this helps!.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Fairview) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong sense of community
- The cultural scene scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much growing but now it's better than expected.
