Kinsley Reed moving

Just moved to Morgantown, any tips?

Alright, My partner and I are You can expect to pay around $888 for rent here. Homes are going for about $238,200 on average. Rent is about $888/month for a decent place. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Worth the trade-offs? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Pittsburgh it's excellent.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a social worker, 41, moved here 10 years ago from New York. I've lived in Sunset and The Heights, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Limited high-paying job options
3. The walkability situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Sunset: Great for remote workers. decent vibes, walkable.
- The Heights: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I work in marketing here and it exceeded my expectations. The job market for my field is hit or miss. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The community vibe is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much established but now it's tough.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is traffic. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

The food scene here is decent. Tons of great Indian places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
