Best neighborhoods to rent in Morristown?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Poverty rate is 8.1%, which is pretty low. With a population of 20,256, Morristown is a small town. Household incomes average around $115,409 in Morristown. Homes are going for about $552,800 on average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Good healthcare facilities
- Walkable downtown

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Hot summers
- Cold winters
- Poor road conditions
Would love some local perspective. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 3 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in West. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Moved here from Houston about 11 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to housing market but Feel free to reach out with questions..

Bought a house here in 2018 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a contractor, 48, moved here 10 years ago from Austin. I've lived in Downtown and Old Town, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Not a lot of cultural diversity
3. The nightlife situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for couples. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Old Town: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Austin, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
