Is public transit usable in Morristown?

Hello, The median home value here is around $552,800, which is pretty steep. Median household income is $115,409, which feels pretty solid for the area. Homes are going for about $552,800 on average. The unemployment rate is 3.8%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Anyone in a similar situation? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 15 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Boston about 6 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Good luck with whatever you decide..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Came here for work and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The community vibe is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.
