What's it really like living in Morristown?

Random thought, I'm a remote worker and Crime rate is something to consider -Morristown sits at 214.1 per 100K. Does this match your experience?

Moved here from Baltimore about 11 years ago. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Still getting used to outdoor recreation but Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 7 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely better than expected and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (North) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

I'm a lawyer and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

Came here for work and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The housing market is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is improving in most areas.

I've lived in South for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights
- The nightlife scene is improving

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Uptown for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Diverse dining options
- The job market scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.
