OK so I've been here for 6 years and Median household income is $44,811, which feels on the lower side for the area. The unemployment rate is 4.4%, which is about average. Poverty rate is 20.7%, which is higher than I expected. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Am I wrong here? Cheers. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've been here 6 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is surprisingly good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
