So, The median home value here is around $155,700, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 30,983, Morristown is a smaller city. Crime rate is something to consider -Morristown sits at 848.8 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $855 for rent here. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Is this normal for Morristown? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Meadowbrook for 12 years. Moved from Denver for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.
**Employment:**
education is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is solid - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Meadowbrook schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Limited shopping options. And dating scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 5/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 10 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Hope this helps!.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely pretty good and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (North) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for family and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The dating scene is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The dating scene is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.
