Hey folks, Born and raised here. Crime rate is something to consider -Morristown sits at 848.8 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $855 for rent here. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. What would you do? The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The traffic is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a contractor, 38, moved here 6 years ago from Austin. I've lived in East and Uptown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Four distinct seasons
2. Diverse dining options
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Urban sprawl is real
3. The nightlife situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for remote workers. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Uptown: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Austin, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $70K-$110K here.
**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The walkability is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
