Poverty rate is 4.1%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 2.2%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,785 for rent here. Rent is about $1,785/month for a decent place. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What would you do? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights
- The walkability scene is tough
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Good luck with whatever you decide..

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Lakewood area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

I work in education here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is tough. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Used to live on the Riverside side, now on the Uptown side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
