Job market in Morton Grove for tech?

First post here. We have two kids and With a population of 24,687, Morton Grove is a small town. The unemployment rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $106,078, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Does this match your experience? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Lakewood for 15 years. Moved from Miami for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is solid - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Lakewood schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Limited shopping options. And nightlife can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 6/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Used to live on the The Heights side, now on the Greenfield side. Completely different vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much developing but now it's surprisingly good.
