Weekend activities in Morton Grove?

Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $377,000, which seems about average. Rent is about $2,210/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Morton Grove sits at 83.0 per 100K. Median household income is $106,078, which feels pretty solid for the area. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Thanks for reading. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. job market used to be much growing but now it's decent.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a accountant, 33, moved here 7 years ago from Houston. I've lived in Highland and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Lots of new development happening
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Rising rent and home prices
3. The school system situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Highland: Great for remote workers. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Houston, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $50K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in The Heights for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- The food scene scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 3 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
