So, Household incomes average around $68,451 in Moscow Mills. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Would love some local perspective. Cheers. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

I work in marketing here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is excellent. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a electrician, 53, moved here 15 years ago from Salt Lake City. I've lived in Uptown and Riverside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Property taxes are high
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The traffic situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Uptown: Great for singles. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Riverside: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Salt Lake City, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $90K-$130K here.
**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Portland about 3 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Bugs and humidity in summer
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are manageable, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Definitely worth checking out..

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is dating scene. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value weather, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Riverside) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 1 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
