Curious what people think. We have two kids and Average temperature is around 68--F, so the weather is moderate. The median home value here is around $242,300, which is actually reasonable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Thoughts?

I'm a social worker and I've found I love the pace of life here. The community is tough and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Nashville about 3 years ago. The main reasons were school and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are competitive, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
