Commute times in Moss Point -how bad?

Hey everyone, I'm a remote worker and Average temperature is around 68--F, so the weather is moderate. Poverty rate is 14.6%, which is around average. Homes are going for about $107,700 on average. Median household income is $46,684, which feels on the lower side for the area. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Would love some local perspective. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Tampa about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is excellent.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. No regrets on my end..
