Moultrie housing prices -when will it stop?
Hi all, I relocated for work and Household incomes average around $42,900 in Moultrie. Homes are going for about $155,900 on average. Rent is about $777/month for a decent place. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.
Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Diverse community
- Plenty of shopping options
Cons:
- Not very walkable
- Limited dining options
- High property taxes
- Lack of diversity
- Homelessness issues downtown
The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.
