Working remotely from Moultrie

We're a young couple and Crime rate is something to consider -Moultrie sits at 496.9 per 100K. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Worth the trade-offs? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the Old Town side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Pine Hills for 7 years. Moved from Charlotte for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Road conditions need improvement. And pet-friendliness can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 6/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much established but now it's improving.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Raleigh it's decent.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 14 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
