Best neighborhoods to rent in Mount Arlington?

First post here. Born and raised here. The median home value here is around $393,400, which seems about average. You can expect to pay around $2,309 for rent here. Poverty rate is 4.4%, which is pretty low. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Westside for 5 years. Moved from Phoenix for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Westside schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not a lot of cultural diversity. Road conditions need improvement. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 8/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in Westside for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- The school system scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
