So, I'm retired and It's a a small town city with about 15,567 people. Median household income is $57,663, which feels about average for the area. Homes are going for about $169,000 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What would you do? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The walkability is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Happy to answer more specific questions..

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much manageable but now it's tough.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value school system, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely better than expected and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (North) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
