Alright, Household incomes average around $57,027 in Mount Orab. It's a a small town city with about 4,765 people. The weather takes some getting used to. Does this match your experience? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Used to live on the East side, now on the Uptown side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is traffic. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Maple Ridge. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The healthcare is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from San Diego about 5 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Nightlife is limited
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are reasonable, gas is pretty good.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.
