Best restaurants in Mount Pleasant?

I relocated for work and With a population of 92,662, Mount Pleasant is a smaller city. The median home value here is around $667,100, which is pretty steep. Average temperature is around 67--F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider -Mount Pleasant sits at 113.6 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Anyone in a similar situation? The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The healthcare is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Sunset for 10 years. Moved from Atlanta for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
tech is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is improving - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Sunset schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Homeless population growing downtown. And housing market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 6/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Pine Hills. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in engineering. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Dallas about 11 years ago. The main reasons were work and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Affordable housing options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 8 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
