OK so I grew up here but left for a while. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What would you do?

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Fairview for 4 years. Moved from Boston for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. real estate is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is improving - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Fairview schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Rising rent and home prices. And dating scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 5/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I work in retail here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is surprisingly good. No regrets on my end..

Bought a house here in 2022 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone about the same since then.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much developing but now it's decent.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Used to live on the Oak Park side, now on the Lakewood side. Completely different vibe. the quality of life is solid.
