Is it worth buying in Mount Prospect?

Hey folks, Rent is about $1,454/month for a decent place. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Am I wrong here? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Moved here from Austin about 12 years ago. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Still getting used to nightlife but Would recommend to anyone considering it..
