Relocating to Mount Sinai, NY -pros and cons?

Homes are going for about $637,700 on average. Poverty rate is 1.3%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $170,188 in Mount Sinai. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Thanks in advance! Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it was the best decision I ever made. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've lived in Springfield for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
- The public transit scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
