Why I chose Mount Vernon over bigger cities

Hey folks, I'm a teacher here and Rent is about $726/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 6,431 people. Poverty rate is 10.4%, which is around average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Thanks for reading. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.
