Best and worst neighborhoods in Mount Vista

Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $526,200, which is pretty steep. Rent is about $1,876/month for a decent place. With a population of 10,635, Mount Vista is a small town. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Thoughts? Any help is appreciated. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 14 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Affordable housing options
- The food scene scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'm a project manager and I've found it exceeded my expectations. The community is improving and there's always something going on.
