Co-working spaces in Mountain City?

The median home value here is around $125,000, which is actually reasonable. Let me know your thoughts.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Pittsburgh it's excellent.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Greenfield for 8 years. Moved from New York for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
finance is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Can feel isolated. And food scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 7/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much wild but now it's challenging.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 1 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Lots of new development happening
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are reasonable, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. No regrets on my end..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a writer, 43, moved here 13 years ago from Austin. I've lived in Downtown and Highland, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Rising rent and home prices
3. The job market situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for singles. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Highland: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Austin, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
