Thinking about relocating to Mountain House from Cincinnati

With a population of 25,108, Mountain House is a smaller city. The median home value here is around $859,700, which is pretty steep. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Is this normal for Mountain House? Appreciate any input.

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 6 years here, that's my honest assessment.

The food scene here is hit or miss. Tons of great Thai places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want safety, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much pricey but now it's hit or miss.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Boston about 2 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Came here for weather and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The healthcare is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
