Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm originally from Portland and You can expect to pay around $1,847 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 1.2%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 13,102 people. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Anyone in a similar situation? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
