I'm single, late 20s, and Rent is about $2,975/month for a decent place. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Anyone in a similar situation? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Denver about 4 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are competitive, gas is underrated.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.
