Mountain View is underrated, change my mind

Hi all, With a population of 82,363, Mountain View is a smaller city. It's a a smaller city city with about 82,363 people. The unemployment rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Great weather
- Friendly people
- Growing food scene
- Easy commute

Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Limited dining options
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Far from major airports
What are your go-to spots? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Houston about 7 years ago. The main reasons were family and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Close to major attractions
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Rising rent and home prices

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Eastside. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in legal. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like seafood.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Austin it's average.

Came here for work and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The housing market is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
