Mountain View vs Los Angeles -which is better?

Hi all, Just moved here 3 months ago and Homes are going for about $1,927,400 on average. The median home value here is around $1,927,400, which is pretty steep. You can expect to pay around $2,975 for rent here. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Good schools
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Hot summers
- High property taxes
- Chain restaurants dominate
What do you all think? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
