Worst things about living in Mountain View

Look, I love Mountain View, but let's be real about the downsides:

Traffic can be bad during rush hour
Job market is niche
Not much to complain about honestly

Don't get me wrong, it's still a great place overall. But people should know what they're getting into.

I work in manufacturing and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 3 months.

The job market has been improving lately. Several education companies moved in recently.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

I've lived in Old Town for 6 years and it's a hidden gem honestly.

I'd add that the parks here are amazing for families. Otherwise spot on!

Great post! One thing I'd mention is check out the local Facebook groups for neighborhood info. Makes a big difference.

Weather is the biggest factor for us. Four seasons are nice, not too extreme either way.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Maple Heights and Northside are perfectly safe.

Coming from Seattle, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are cheaper.
