Is it worth buying in Mountain View?

Alright, Just moved here 1 months ago and The median home value here is around $246,300, which is actually reasonable. You can expect to pay around $792 for rent here. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. Any advice would be great. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is improving. Tons of great Thai places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Charlotte about 6 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are established, gas is underrated.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Feel free to reach out with questions..
