Mountain Village quality of life -am I missing something?
Curious what people think. I grew up here but left for a while. The unemployment rate is 5.1%, which is about average. Homes are going for about $2,000,001 on average. With a population of 1,713, Mountain Village is a small town. Average temperature is around 38--F, so bundle up in winter. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to.
Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Lots of new development
- Walkable downtown
- Active local events
Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- High property taxes
- Lack of diversity
- Few job opportunities in some fields
Anyone in a similar situation? The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.
